This course explores the mental health benefits of physical activity and exposure to the natural world and how to incorporate them into therapeutic practice.

Walking therapy has many proven benefits, for example, reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression, improved confidence and self-esteem, better decision making and clarity of thought.

It also helps to foster rapport with the client in a less confrontational setting, helping clients to open up and be more receptive to therapy, as well as benefitting from the physical and mental advantages of moving in a natural environment.

The CPD will explore:

  • Research into the benefits of physical activity.

  • Nature’s solutions – the hidden benefits in a natural environment.

  • The full Solution Focused Walking protocol**

  • Safety and Insurance considerations.

  • The Miracle Question and how to use it.

  • Group walking.

About your Tutor

Karen is a clinical hypnotherapist and clinical supervisor and was a senior tutor, teaching solution-focused hypnotherapy until September 2024.

She gained both the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD), The Practitioner Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, as well as the SF Supervision for Hypnotherapy Diploma.

She has her own practice in Skipton. She is very passionate about nature and its beneficial effects on mental health which lead her to develop this protocol and to share it with others.
