By some mistake of fate, Amanda was not born in the "olden" days of the horse. She did not have the fortune to be born into a wealthy family, with resources to support formal equine education, nor was she lucky enough to be born into a horse-oriented family. So after high school, Amanda set out to do it on her own. Little did her family and friends know this 'phase' of her life would actually BE her life.
Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, Amanda has had the opportunity to work and come into contact with many wonderful trainers, who have all brought her to where she is today. From mucking stalls to grooming horses, from assisting with breedings to birthing babies, Amanda has had an opportunity to 'dabble' in a bit of all disciplines. A love for kids, horses, learning, and teaching is what has brought Amanda this far in her career.
Amanda was an avid member of the Triad Horseman’s Association, until they disbanded in 2004, and most recently was the Vice President of the Whips and Wheels Driving Club. Amanda has instructed people of all ages, and even volunteered instructing with Horsefeathers Therapeutic Riding Facility, in 2000.
Currently, Amanda operates Gold Leaf Training which is based in Mount Airy, NC. Amanda is married, and has one son, Hunter, who will be 5 years old in July 2010!
Amanda is at your disposal for answering any questions you may have. You may email her directly at cowgirl27107@gmail.com, or call her at 336-756-5619. She would love to meet you!
